How the conversion works
The calculator uses the browser's native IANA time zone database—the same one used by operating systems and calendar apps. This ensures that daylight saving time for each region is factored in automatically based on the chosen date, rather than relying on a static hour offset.
Daylight saving time in Brazil
Brazil stopped observing daylight saving time in 2019. Brasília time remains fixed at UTC-3 throughout the year. However, countries like the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia still adjust their clocks seasonally, changing their time difference relative to Brazil depending on the time of year.
Why the date can change during conversion
Distant time zones can differ by more than 12 hours. Evening hours in one location might already be the following morning in another, depending on their position relative to the International Date Line. That is why the calculator always displays the complete date along with the time.
