How to use it
Paste the CSV content into the text field, or click "Upload CSV file" to load a file from your computer. The table appears automatically below, using the detected or manually chosen delimiter.
Sorting and search
Click any column header to sort the table by it; click again to reverse the direction. Columns with numeric values are sorted as numbers, not as text (so 9 comes before 10). The search field filters rows containing the typed term in any column, live as you type.
Support for quoted fields
The viewer follows the standard CSV format (RFC 4180): fields that need to contain the delimiter itself, line breaks, or literal quotes are wrapped in double quotes — for example, "Smith, John" is treated as a single field, not two.
Frequently asked questions
How is the delimiter auto-detected?
The tool counts how many times each common delimiter (comma, semicolon, tab, pipe) appears in the file's first line, and uses whichever appears most often. If the result isn't what you expect, you can choose the delimiter manually.
Does the viewer understand fields with a comma inside quotes?
Yes. Fields wrapped in double quotes can contain the delimiter itself, line breaks, and escaped quotes (two quotes in a row represent one literal quote), following the standard CSV format (RFC 4180).
What happens if rows have a different number of columns?
The table uses the largest number of columns found across all rows. Rows with fewer fields show empty cells at the end; extra fields beyond the header are still shown in unnamed columns.
Is the CSV file sent to a server?
No. Both pasted content and uploaded files are read and processed entirely in your browser, in JavaScript, with no upload to a server.
